Homemade Apple & Pear Sauce | Healthy Recipe

Woo-hoo, it's Friday! Do you have any big plans for the weekend? We will be watching the annual OU/TX football game and doing some projects around the house. (In case you're wondering, I'm a Sooner fan and hubs is a Texas fan!)

Since it's supposed to finally cool off for good down here in Texas, I decided to try a new recipe and make some homemade apple and pear sauce. It's a nice chunky sauce that's healthy, too! Oh boy, it is delicious and it only has THREE ingredients...yep! Can you get any easier than that? I have a feeling this is going to be a staple in our home this fall...it will be great to send with the boys for lunch at preschool!

Enjoy! Let me know if you make it and how you like it!
Homemade Apple & Pear Sauce
  • 3 Barlett pears, 3 Granny Smith apples, 4-5 Gala apples, peeled
  • 2 teaspoons of cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon of vanilla
Cut your fruit into large chunks and toss them into your crockpot. Add the cinnamon and vanilla, set it to low and let the fruit cook for 4-6 hours. Mash with a potato masher to desired 'chunkiness' and serve! Store in the fridge for up to 7 days.
Add-ins:
  • Brown sugar
  • Raisins
  • Cranberries
